High School JR ROTC Army Instructor Position Vacancy
Minisink Valley HS Army JROTC is seeking an outstanding Army career Senior Non-Commissioned Officer to serve on a temporary one year assignment as the Army Instructor (SY ’09-’10; effective: 1 Sep ’09-30 Jun ’10) pending return of the permanent Army Instructor: CSM Brian Van Wagner – federally activated and serving in Afghanistan.
Applicant must be a recent Army Retiree (within 3 years) and be certified or eligible for Cadet Command certification unless presently or recently employed as an Army Instructor. Preference is for a 4 year baccalaureate degree; a 2 year associate degree is acceptable. JROTC affiliation thru SR ROTC, Recruiting, etc. is helpful. Experience interacting with teenagers is highly desirable.
Salary is comparable to Total Active Duty Pay (Base Pay, VHA, & Subsistence) and 50% cost-shared between the USA and School District. Pay days are every two weeks. You still receive your monthly Army pension. Benefits are available. Minisink School District and the High School provide outstanding quality employment opportunity. The Superintendent, Board, & Principal are very strong JROTC supporters.
The JROTC Mission: “To Motivate Young People To Become Better Citizens”. JROTC provides an education foundation in Character, Citizenship, & Leadership thru Disciplinary Standards, Civic Values, & Ethics. Cadets attend JROTC class one period a day, five days a week and receive 1 elective credit. Uniform Day & Drill & Ceremonies: Tuesdays; Physical Training: Fridays. Other days: Academics.
The JROTC program is dual targeted: curricular and extra-curricular. Academics (including Guest Speakers): National program localized. After-School daily Teams & Clubs, evening and weekend trips, competitions, & community service learning experiences and a summer camp comprise the program. 
MVHS is located in Orange County, NY on a sprawling campus off of US 6 between Middletown & Port Jervis. I-84 and NY 17 are nearby. West Point, USMA, is a 45 minute drive. The School District serves a developing suburban and country community. Middletown, NY contains all the modern American life style amenities from A-Z.

Level 3 Technical Support (Hudson Valley) 
Job Description: Responsible for offering tier 3 technical support to Time Warner Cable Customers’ by performing the following duties: MAJOR DUTIES/TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES, SPECIAL ASSIGNAMENT: Including the following, other duties may be assigned. Provide customer-friendly and proficient technical support to high speed data customers using phone, email, chat, instant messaging, and other means of communication. Document and escalate issues, and work with other departments, ISPs, or business partners in order to resolve them as quickly and efficiently as possible. Successfully meet or exceed Time Warner Cable’s call handle requirements as measured by periodic call monitoring and individual call statistics. Support the commercial high speed data business by diagnosing and troubleshooting network and router related issues, as well as standard technical issues. Provide support to installers and field technicians when appropriate and as needed. Monitor the hybrid fiber coax network using various network diagnostic tools for system outages. Open and track trouble tickets as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

Ensures execution and maintenance of all merchandising standards (e.g., sizing, categorizing, signing, no tickets, mis-mates, damages, recovery, directives and planograms). Leads by example, providing prompt and courteous customer service. Communicates effectively with Management and store Associates. Trains store Associates on proper merchandising procedures and markdowns.

You may be eligible for unemployment.  If you are a military spouse who had to quit your job to follow a military member on a PCS move to West Point , you may be eligible to collect unemployment benefits. If you are arriving here from another state, you can contact the NYDOL at 845 568-5373..  Be sure to have a copy of the military members’ PCS orders. When you leave West Point for another duty location, if you have worked in NY State and move as a result of the military members PCS, you will probably be eligible to receive benefits from New York State , although each situation is handled on a case by case basis.
